I have a MVC4 site, with a post web api, which works great on my dev machine. I deploy to my server, which I installed MVC4 and .Net 4.5 on, and everything works great, even get calls to my web api, but the post I am calling returns a 500 service error.
I have a get version of the call, it works, run the post, get a 500 error.
What could cause this?

A 500 error from the server means that there was an unhandled exception. You can see the specific exception in the 500 response body if you temporarily configure your Web API like this:
GlobalConfiguration.Configuration.IncludeErrorDetailPolicy = IncludeErrorDetailPolicy.Always;
Can you confirm that the server you deployed to has the Beta versions of MVC 4 and .NET 4.5 and that you don't have any other developer preview bits installed?
