I have the personal site kit set up.
I can access/edit it thru Visual Studio 2005. I access the DB thru SQL2005 tools.
I am trying to figure out how to set up an administrative user as it says in Welcome.html, but the menu item for Website/Asp.net Configuration isnt there!
What am I missing?

Are you using Vista?

I read in another forum that sometimes the web project doesn't get recognized as a web project. Try right clicking the project and see if there is a convert to web project option. If this doesn't help, you may want to install Visual Web Developer.

Yes.. I am using vista..
Looking for the convert option - I dont see one offhand.. I will look further.
The site is live on the web... it appears to work other than I cant create an initial user for myself as per the Welcome.html...

I am connecting to my site thru visual studio by opening the website, then choosing the ftp site option.
I do not have a local copy.
Could my problem have anything to do with this and if so is there a guide to manually create an admin user?

The ASP.NET Configuration tool is not available when accessing a remote site. It can only be used on a local database. I would suggest that you download all the files and run the project locally. It's dangerous to work on the live website files because mistakes
can cause instant downtime and broken files that can't be reversed.
If you're looking for a way to manage user accounts over the web, you can download the web-based user management sample from my website.

I copied my site local and I got the menu's I needed. I will just publish when I need to.
Thanks so much for the assists.
