I am an absolute beginner with LINQ and wish to explore it using VS-2005 & SQL Server-2005. Can anyone guide me on getting started with LINQ. What software do i need to download to use LINQ with Visual Studio 2005. I do not want to use Orcas (Visual Studio
2008 beta) for the time being. I just want to explore LINQ using VS-2005 and the tutorials on ScottGu's website with the following URL:
Thanks for helping..

Sorry you will need Orcas to use Linq. There use to be a Linq project that integrated into to VS 2005 but that is no longer available.

Is it ok to install Orcas with VS 2005 side by side. Hope they will not overlap each other in terms of configuration or installation ? I think the only big addition would be of .NET Framework Version 3.x?
Thanks for replying...

You can have VS 2008 and VS 2005 on the machine without problems. One thing to keep in mind is that VS 2008 installs .Net Framework 2.0 and .Net Framework 3.0 service pack 1. Probably not a good idea to install on a product machine
