I developed asp.net application with vs2005, sqlserver2005, in my application I used master pages, business access layer, and data access layer, each and every page will integrate master page (except login page). In master page I am verifying the user is authentication and authorization based on the sessions. It is working fine and also lunched online, the users are working very well.
Now I need to integrate this site (asp.net application) to share point 2007, I created one document management application in share point 2007, I created folder structure and now I need to give permitions for those folders, based on my asp.net application roles and groups. Once the user login into my asp.net application or login to share point application (I need to give some links in botch applications), I need to do operations based on users authentication and authorization.
In asp.net application authentication mode is forms, but as of now my share point application mode is windows only, if I need to change this mode to forms I need to map the data base by asp.net application data base. But my asp.net application is not have any membership providers and role based providers.
So, this my long story, now I need to integrate this both applications with one or two data bases.
Is it possible, if possible please give any tips or ways to do this. If not possible please give a alternate solution for this. If possible give any links to rectify my problem. Please help me out.
If I need to change my existing application to membership and role based provider may be it is not possible at present because it was developed by two and half years if I need to change may be it will take some more time, but time is there to me to do this. With minimum changes I will do, that are not an issue, please kindly keep this information and give a possible solution.
