I have observed and my colleagues always Lead me by saying " Giants web sites where they need security and performance they always go for java/jsp/bla bla"

Is this statement is right? why peoples calls us that .net is buggy :( .. , .net is very easy to use... ..net Developer dont hav pure concept whatz actualy going inside... few peoples came to know inside archtecture.. where a normal java developer got very strong concept...

i want to ask.. what do i need to learn.. am into database oriented application/web stis.. which hav DB on back side.. a Business logic and presentation.. what else i need to learn in asp.net to get more n more grip on concept..

i want to become an architect. pleas guide me

The statement is true because Microsoft products don't provide much security and can't run on UNIX and LINUX platforms. So apps which are large and require high security go for Java. Java is more secured, also provides client side security for web sites eg.. banking websites. And the MOST BIGGEST HEADACHE with .Net is multiple Versions were released with in very short periods of 2 or 3 years where as a huge application can take a minimum of 2 years development time.

I dont agree a normal Java Developer stronger than an ASP.Net Developer. ASP.Net is easy to learn, takes very less developement time compared to Java. Learning Java or .Net is more or less the same.

I recommend you to learn Custom User Interface based developement technologies like AJAX (eg Gmail), FLEX, XAML which have much scope in future in Web applications.

    :)

    MySpace, Microsoft.com, Asp.Net

Are all examples of large sites written in asp.net

Asp.Net has a page lifecycle with postback, events, viewstate and sessionstate. These things are not part of http and in most platforms have to be done semi-manually. Asp.net developers are spoiled in this way and don't always have a complete grasp on the complexities of the http protocol. there is nothing wrong with this and there are plenty of large sites in asp.net.

If you want to use Asp.net and get to know http you can try the MVC approach which gets rid of postbacks, viewstate and the event model but still lets you take advantage of the ease of programming in .Net

     hi..

sorry for late reply i was busy..

well i totally agree with you  "And the MOST BIGGEST HEADACHE with .Net is multiple Versions were released with in very short periods of 2 or 3 years where as a huge application can take a minimum of 2 years development time."

but why dont Microsoft :( emphythise on this, juz after few months there is another release or another name of .net framework:(. why dont they concentrate on security issues, bcoz i have heard alot "Asp.net " is not secured:(

i wana stay in in .net world. what should i learn now to stay in .net market (web base) application for long time? should i start instantly the comming versions of .net framework?

    n thanks for the reply
