I have a problem with Netfirms ASP.NET.

When I try to load my ASP.NET page, I have to refresh it about a dozen times before the page loads. If I leave it without anyone logging on for 15 minutes or more, it goes back to what it was and won't allow me to log on unless I refresh it another dozen or so times. I've called Netfirms with the complaint over the past 2 weeks and they keep telling me that they're fixing it, but with no Estimated time of completion.

I've looked around a bit on here, and now I wish I didn't sign up with Netfirms with ASP.NET in mind. I used them as a hosting provider a few years back for PHP on a different site, and recently got my workplace to switch over the Netfirms so I could take advantage of the ASP.NET..... That was a bad move.

So, does anyone know what the problem is with Netfirms? Does anyone know how I can get out of a contract with them and get my Money back? I'm a couple weeks past my "30 day money back guarantee"

I ran into the same problem, so I just test on my dev machine or notebook and make sure all is well before uploading it to my netfirms account.

- They share application pool with other asp.net websites
- Their SQL server database option is not up to par (they should have just left this out)

I'll advise you go with a host that does ASP.Net hosting to host ASP.Net website. There are many host out there that do both, but not like netfirms does... Netfirms still stores all it's files on a *nix box and somehow when you call "asp" or "aspx" files it knows to run them via a windows server.

Just as a correction, *nix servers can actually run ASP.NET pages. They just don't fully support the language.

Most ASP.NET hosts will also support PHP, PERL etc but run it all on IIS NOT a Nix box (what a stupid idea!)
