    Hi all,

I am have setup IIS on my XP Pro machine time after time and it has worked.  But this time regardless of what i do i get: an "application/octet-stream" error on Firefox and for IE, my default.aspx pages code displayed.

    I have tried using aspnet_regiis -i to remap/reinstall asp.net... still nothing.

I am totally stumped on this and would appreciate any insight or suggestions... PLEASE. Thanks in advance.

In IIS there is a tab that says allow ASP.NET and they the version do you see that?

    Hi Albert,

Thank you for the reply, I don't think I ever saw that option.  Maybe its because I am still not ready to switch over to asp.net 2 or 3, so I never installed those versions.

Good news though, things started working again with multiple errors. I don't know what fixed it, because I tried many things one night and shut it down. My best guess is I deleted "browser caps" within my web.config file. Things I am sure of... it wasn't the antivirus or firewall, or my browser setting.

But may I ask why you asked what you asked...
