VWD 2008 Release Edition was working perfectly - with some minor bugs - untill today.

The only changes I have made to my Win XP Pro SP2 are 2:

1 - Installing powerpoin reader and

2 - Installing word reader

The only change I have made to my VWD was importing a setting file.

From then:

1 - When I try to add a refrence to an assembly, VWD 2008 crashes.

2 - Intellisense is not working partly. It is not working for namespaces like System.Linq, System.Xml.Linq and provided extension methods in these namespaces. But the application works without any error messages ('works' means my code is doing what was intend to do).

I have uninstalled the applications that I have mentioned above and I have reset settings of VWD. But the problem is still there.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling .NET 3.5. Most probably 3.5 did not install correctly. Try also rebooting machine before reinstalling the framework.

I have un-installed .NET 3.5 / then reboot / then installed .NET 3.5 from DVD iso image of Express editions / again reboot. But problems are still there:

1 - Intellisense does not work partially (as I have expressed).

2 - VWD crashes when adding a reference  to an assembly.
