We have a new asp.net 1.1 web site that we just deployed. The issue we have is that is is running extremly slow on SSL and through load balancer.

When we hit the individual servers in the web farm, even though the ssl, we have good performance.

Any information will be greatly appriciated.

Are you on IIS 6 ? If so have you turned on compression?

Have you used Fiddler? http://www.fiddlertool.com/fiddler/
Check the status codes to make sure you are not getting any 404's.

It will also tell you the page size coming back. I have seen the viewstate increase page sizes over 200K!

We are running under IIS 5. And we do not use Fiddler.
