I'm almost finished with development of my personal website and I'm ready to find a host.  I know it says my location is Germany, but I will be coming back to the US in the next 2 months.  So I'm looking for a US based host that offers some real disk space.  My website has photos and videos that currently is around 3 GB but I expect to have over 10 in the next couple years or so.  I also have a SQL Server Database. So maybe I should find an host for 4 or 5GB now and hope that the host will upgrade their hardware??  I have read other suggestions on this forum and it seems that no one ever suggest a host with some real storage.  I mean webhost4life offers as their "premium" only 3gb for $20/month??? is this 2007? So then I look at GoDaddy which everyone hates and they give you 100GB for 6.99/month and 1and1 give 10GB for 3.99/month or 120GB for 4.99/month.  So since I don't want to go to the darkside, GoDaddy or 1and 1.com, can you guys give me some suggestions?  10GB and SQL Server isn't that much to ask for is it?

Thanks for the help in advance, I really appreciate any advice you might have!   And if you have had a good experience with GoDaddy or 1and1, let me know and maybe I will change my mind about them.

Well, I have gotten some suggestions but for hosts that would cost $20+/month for a solution that fits my situation.... So should I go with GoDaddy or what? Only the huge company's offer large disk space for cheap with SQL Server 2005.

    Ultima ??? 300GB on shared plan - lol i don't think so ...

1&1 Hosting - hmm if this is personal site it may work for you. i have many sites with them and as long as server works it is good hosting, but when there is a problem it takes much longer for them to fix it that other host. But for the prices/ disk space they offer what do you expect. Keep in mind that they WILL NOT allow you to store 100GB !!! - there are limits like file limit, read agreement :)

If you need 10GB of disk space it will be very hard to find good & cheap shared hosting

If you have more $ you should think about VPS very good fullcontrol.net prices from $59/m

or you can open VPS account with 1&1 Hosting - will cost you about 29/m - BUT for VPS & Dedicated servers they havemuch better support !!!

I'm developing windows Application using C#... The App is basically a search app. when a support user(assume the support Gal  :)  )  searches for specific record... the query returns say some 100 rows and i display those data in a DATAGRIDVIEW control... I need couple of things in this.:1). In my Windows Form  i have two buttons for sorting the Queue say like UP and DOWN arrow. -          The user will select a single row in the Search Results list and then select the “Up” or “Down” navigation buttons to order the jobs      --->        The “UP” navigation button will update the database to indicate the order this job will be executed (decrement the order by 1)        --->    The “UP” navigation button will move single jobs up in the queue by 1 row, causing the Search Results to refresh showing the new location of the selected job and vice  - versa on click  of the DOWN arrow...((increment the order by 1)) 2)    when the user click UP arrow she should be able to go directly to the row where the Status is of type Queued and the place the selected row before this  (queued ) row.. The columns i have: JobType          Country           TimeStarted              TimeFinshed                StatusCP                 SA                   "2007-02-17       "2007-05-07       Success00:00:00.000"     00:00:00.000" IP                  NA                  "2007-02-17       "2007-02-18       Queued00:00:00.000"     00:00:00.000" PP                 FR                   "2007-02-16       "2007-02-17       Failed00:00:00.000"     00:00:00.000" PG                 IN                    "2007-02-17       "2007-02-19       Queued00:00:00.000"     00:00:00.000" -          The “Up” and “Down” navigation buttons only apply to jobs that are of a status “Queued” Pls help me out ... I am desperate and my life sucks here....

Does anyone use networksolutions hosting?  For me it might work 7 GB of disk space and SQL Server for $10/mo...Anyone had any experience with them? What are the "file limits" for 1and1.com and godaddy?

I think I might go with godaddy.com it's cheap, it's not 1and1.com, it has the needed disk space, and supports a MS SQL Database
