    I need to call an external web service from a godaddy.com website. The code works on other ASP.NET sites that I author. Or do you know a IIS hosting company that has real technical support?

    Use godaddy for your domain registration, host your site else where..

    I recommend CrystalTech and Discountasp.net both will allow you to do what you are looking for and have fantastic support.

    I would second the vote for Discountasp.net.  I think they the top .NET hosting provider around (CT has let me down in the past, so I can't recommend them).

    Try Ultima Hosts as they run their servers under Full Trust and are the #1 choice amongst ASP.NET users on this forum.

    I wouldn't necessarily  call ultimahosts the #1 choice on this forum.  I have seen many great recommendations from many ASP.NET developers about Discountasp.net, crystaltech, Maximumasp and more.
