    We used Webparts inside Updatepanel until before Beta 1 without any issues.

    From Beta 1, once if you do any operations (Drag & Drop, Minimize/Maximize) with the webparts title bar then it won’t allow you to perform the same actions again.

    I thought the above said issue will get fixed in Beta 2. But the issue still exists in “ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 RC”.

     

    Since the ASP.NET AJAX RC provides a preview of the fully supported version of ASP.NET AJAX scheduled for release in January,

     

    Whether you guys have any plan on supporting the Web parts inside the Update panel ?

     

    Whether it is worth to wait? Or just forget about it.

    Very actual question. And I'm waiting for an answer during 7-8 weeks too (there are was only recommendations to write own webparts, this is maybe good idea, but it requires additional time and support).

    It's very useful for us that AJAX has the capability with WebParts. But now it's obviously that the answer is not. I wish MS will provide the capability in the official release version. Or if anyone else know whether MS will provide the capability in future?

    When MS will fix this problem?

    When will be final version of ASP.NET AJAX 1.0?

    Unfortunately, WebParts will not be compatible with the UpdatePanel in ASP.NET AJAX 1.0.
