Here is the deal. New Server. New developer to ASP.net. I used to create asp pages. Now using VS2005. When creating new web application I choose "new asp.net ajax web site". This creates new files inculding web.config in one folder. When I place database conntection to application it places connection string in web.config. When I deploy I copy all files to server folder and tell Admin to create virtual directory. I consisder a new web application a small project for one of our departments. (Heh, I need a quick form to track something) I normally create form, table and results display page. Rap it up in one folder and throw it on the server. They are more often not related to each other besides the database connection. Question: 1. How do I place one global connection string for all my applications even though they are in different directories? 2. How do I encrypt my password to the database? 3. Will session variables hold between applications.
