Turning off some of the features of the security system

Does anyone know how to customise some of the features of the log in system? I'm building a small website for use on an intranet as part of a university project. You are getting two emails because the passwordrecovery1.sendingmail sub is has one email, and you have created a new smtp client and then sent the same email using it (i.e. e.Message). In other words you are sending e.message both from your smtp client and from the one already generated by the password...
