Re: debugger not working - authentication error occurred while communicating with the web server

I’m using VS2008 SP1 and IIS6 on Win2K3 SP2 get the error message “unable to start debugging on the web server. an authentication error occurred …” even though the integrated security option was set. It turns out in this case that debugging a site that required host headers caused this error message...

Debug/Start without debugging works - Debug/Start with debugging program doesn't even launch

If I select 'Debug/Start Without Debugging', my program launches and runs just as it should. If I select Debug/Start With Debugging, the system flutters like it should, (running) appears in the title bar, and immediately returns to VS as if it's done running, and (running) now disappears...

Setting JavaScript breakpoints in embedded .JS files

Hi I don't seem to be able to set a breakpoint in a .JS file that is included as a web resource, the breakpoint never gets enabled when the application runs. I'm guessing that this may be normal and that I should somehow include the pure JS file for development purposes, but this is frustrating...

VS2008: Frequently crashes (BSOD) while debugging

I am going crazy with VS2008 crashing with alarming frequency. I'm wondering if others are having a similar problem. The BSOD always occurs when debugging a large web app. I'm absolutely positive that it is indeed VS2008 that is crashing, because sometimes I can make it crash on the same statement...
