    I am having the same issues. In fact in Word 2003, if its corrupt, you can't repair it at all. So this doesn't work out for me. After doing some investigation on the data itself, it turns out that the byte array that comes out of the sql 2005 database is 1 byte more than what Word 2007 saves...
