Am I in trouble or something?

Hi,

I have been sitting on 931 points for about three months now and was wondering if I have been put in the sin bin or something, my points dont change anymore!

not that I know off. But keep in mind that a while ago some bugfix was released which implements that once you started a thread and keep on replying to your own thread, you don't get points for that anymore. This used to be two points for each reply in the past. If you would contribute to threads not started by yourself you should be getting the two points for each reply.

Update: when I take a quick look at the posts you've made recently it seems indeed that you started a thread and kept replying to them. Take a look at the bug fixes listed here: http://forums.asp.net/t/1786432.aspx/1?Forums+updates+March+26+2012.

Its no problem for me, I run my own business and am not looking for points to score a job, its just fun for me. But if there is no incentive for someone to mark a question they have asked as the answer then why would they play???

EDIT: I've just had a complete read through of the bug fixes and that has nothing to do with what im asking about, I never expected points for talking about my own posts!!!

you have to actively participate in thread and have genuine reply to thread.

Check your spam folder. That has happened to me too. Mails were going to my spam folder so I have to explicitly make that mails aren't spams.

As far as I know. That didn't change. You are still getting a point for marking the post as answered. I'm not sure though.

Hi Mike,

You get points for:

Replying to a thread that someone else has started (2)
Having your post marked as an answer in a thread that someone else has started (10)
Marking someone else's reply as an answer in a thread you start (1)

Looking at your activity in April, none of your posts would have warranted you points. You started all of those threads, and someone else marked the answer.

But all the threads I started and received an answer for I marked as the answer! I also marked some answers to questions I asked as the answer yesterday but my points did not change? I also marked this thread http://forums.asp.net/p/1793713/4936729.aspx/1?Re+Hosting+multiple+sites+domains+under+one+domain as the answer about tem minutes ago and no change!

My points did change from 931 to 933 because I posted on someone elses thread, but apart from that they havent changed for months.

also, I 'always' mark an answer to my questions if the answer is correct so that the other person gets the points!

My major incentive is to learn by reading other people's answers. But you gotta give to take so if I think I know an answer, I'll post it. I'm not interested in points.

I am the same and if I have anything to offer, even if my problem is solved I will post my results in the hope that it helps someone else. Dont get me wrong I just think something is not working e.g.. what Terri has said:
