Steps to upload website

I have created an website and tried to upload it to a web server but its not working,

How do i convert my website which is in .aspx format to html format

so that it can run.

1) Use publish web site by right clicking your solution in solution explorer
2) selected the target folder
3) Set the option for remoing debug information
4) then upload the web site

u should have mentioned how u r uploading it, and what errors/problems u see after uploading it

Your hosting server support asp.net?

Set the default document to default.aspx

1. All suggestions asked you for setting your website correctly. So could you please share with us what steps exactly you followed for uploading website, so that we can know loophole (if left ignorantly).

2. I tried to repeat same error for website hosted locally on IIS 5.1 by:

(a) Make default document for website other than your website pages under tab Documents.For e.g. make it xyz and remove other pages there.

(b) Enable Directory browsing (this is what enables your website folder(s) visible to users) under tab Virtual Directory.

And this step showed me contents of that particular website's (or virtual directory) contents including sub-folders.

Conclusion:

Make sure that you have not enabled Directory browsing and you have set default page for your website to Default.aspx.

Sir am uploading it with FILEZILLA but here u can see the error http://beginland.tk/ please help me

Thanks,but my problem is i am learning all this on my own and from helpful people like u ,so if if u saw my site link then can you please explain me the procedure to do that.

The message what am getting on my page is mentioned below,the pages are displayed like they are in Visual studios, not in html

so can u please tell me what should be done..

1. If possible share name of your hosting provider. Screenshot of hosting window showing your website contents. Might help to get to root cause.

2. Are you able to access IIS manager. Is the IIS version 7? If yes, add default page using web.config:

         <files>
            <add value="Default.aspx"/>
         </files>
      </defaultDocument>
   </system.webServer>
</configuration>
