Cloud or Grid computer hosting providers (ASP.NET support)

I am currently using Godaddy shared hosting service and my solution is developed in ASP.NET. However, the server could not sustain Digg Effect i.e. huge influx of traffic that came for a short while.

Now, I am looking for possible options.

1. Godaddy Grid Hosting.

2. Switch to PHP and use as Media Temple hosting. I have heard their grid hosting is really good.

3. Any other good hosting provider, who can provide ASP.NET support and can sustain digg effect.

If you are currently happy with GoDaddy then seems like it makes sense to stick with it and move to the grid...?

RackSpace also offer windows cloud hosting under their CloudSites range (CloudServers says windows coming soon)

Why not go for a VPS or Low End Dedicated Server? It'll be around the same budget and you'll get similar or if not better performance for the money. You'll also have a lot more control over the configuration and will be able to optimize for your site.

I also agree that if you are happy with GoDaddy you could stay with them. It will be much better to stay with ASP.NET than switch to PHP, because this will be waste of time an money and your shared hosting problems could be the same with Linux hosting.

I really thing you should go for VPS or Dedicated server option..as no shared hosting will sustain such effects for longs.

We are testing the resellerchoice.com cloud hosting services, With a $20 base price per server and so far stable services, its a winner for us. We are pushing some traffic on it with our chat network.
