Account lockout issues in Production environmenthttp://forums.asp.net/t/1350269.aspx/1?Account+lockout+issues+in+Production+environmentTue, 25 Nov 2008 11:48:54 -050013502692755468http://forums.asp.net/p/1350269/2755468.aspx/1?Account+lockout+issues+in+Production+environmentAccount lockout issues in Production environment
I'm investigating an issue on our hosting environment. We have a web application which automates all provisioning related to creating companies, user accounts, provisioning to exchange, sharepoint etc.

On our production environment lately, we've been noticing that the account used for the app pool of the web app mentioned above (called "ConsoleAdmin"), locks out. This event happens randomly. We've investigated this issue but have so far found nothing.

I happened to look at the MPFAudit database recently, & found something interesting in the 'Events' table. I found that whenever the source column reads "Provisioning.MPFProcessController.1", the event description reads "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password". Events occuring from this source are always throwing a logon failure (8007052e) & frequently the account lockout happens thereafter.

Can someone please tell me what this "Provisioning.MPFProcessController.1" is? How is it used by MPF? Is there any way that I can set the identity for it so that the Logon failure error will go away?

Thanks in advance,

Dennis
2008-11-19T14:22:07-05:002766879http://forums.asp.net/p/1350269/2766879.aspx/1?Re+Account+lockout+issues+in+Production+environmentRe: Account lockout issues in Production environment
I suggest that you also ask your question at:

IIS http://www.iis.net/

2008-11-25T11:48:54-05:00
