One of the things missing from the Microsoft Solution for Windows-based Hosting is a system for billing customers. I was just wondering what software other people are using to bill their customers for monthly hosted solutions?
I haven;t implemented one yet, but we are looking at TechExcel CRM. It integrates with Great Plains, and you can set it up with your rates, and plans and start.end dates. It is also a help desk, so support for issues that are not included in your "Scope" of
support can be billed properly, etc. Check it out: www.techexcel.com I have also thought of using Microsoft CRM and customizing it for my application and integrating it with Great Plains, but I think that with the time and effort involved, that the TechExcel
product is lightyears ahead, and very scalable. HTH, Rick
We use ModernBill for several years now, it is fairly stable and has more or less decent support, but don't ever expect the support people to answer questions in the forums.
We recently switched from ModernBill to AWBS. ModernBill is quite buggy, we found. I'm a huge fan of ClientExec, but its not very feature-loaded, compared to ModernBill that is.
I'm looking for a billing system that support management of Direct Debit details as well as credit cards. AWBS doesn't seem to do this. Can anyone recommend one?
I am the owner of DotNetInvoice and have just released v2.1 of the product, including many bug fixes and 10 new features. If you are looking for a pure ASP.NET / SQL Server / AJAX billing and invoicing solution, including recurring invoicing utilizing PayPal
or Authorize.NET, check out www.dotnetinvoice.com.
Why would you like to use Unix /PHP based billing software on your windows server? As you guys probbaly know mixing unix and windows brings only headakes.
In my opinion the best way to run a stable windows hosting business is to NOT install ANY unix based apps etc.
