Seems we're standing in the crossroads these days. DNN v3 is awesome, but looks like a lot to learn as well. The point of this post: Who will be providing free modules for v3? There are currently over a hundred free modules available for DNN v2, and I think
this is perhaps a major reason for DNN's popularity and phenomenal growth. I'm not yet a coder, but I'm studying. And I promise this: My first working module will be free, as a small token of thanks to the community. So I'm waiting on Mr. Santry's forthcoming
development document, but at the same time wondering if there will be many free modules.
Who will be providing free modules for v3?
Well I suspect many of the free DNN2 modules will also be free in their DNN 3 versions. Exceptions aside I think there will always be people like you who contribute back.
I hope to have most of the Efficion modules (Advanced DataGrid, Articles, Categories, ...) upgraded so that they'll work on both DNN 2 and 3. I'm just installing 3.0.5 today so we'll see how much I have to change... they should be close already...
XMLdb and Tminus will be converted soon after the "first" productive release of DNN3 is available. I have been watching and testing with the Beta's and am on the learning curve of this version. Many thanks to Core team for their efforts - I get tired just thinking
of the effort they have given to us for free. Paul.

nSurvey 1.6 for DNNv3 is already completed. It should be out in the next 24 hours. I have 1 bug to fix before the release. Both DNN2 and DNN3 versions will be released at the same time, with full c# source included for both ;)
As far as I know, Most of my modules already use the DAL. I did that as part of the DNN2 upgrade... I'm guessing things I missed will be fixed as part of upgrading to DNN3... One exception is the Advanced DataGrid which doesn't use the DAL as it can pull directly
from any datasource using any SQL.
Excellent! I had hoped this might turn into a handy thread. It would be great to have a long list here.
Thanks to everyone who provides these free modules. I have to believe you will all be repaid in some way. Sam T.
