    Hi everybody,
I have a DNN website hosted on my ISP Windows 2000 server.
They say that the asp.net service frequently dies and then automatically restarts, many times in a day, probably because of my ASP.Net application.
I have changed nothing from standard modules.
In fact, when I try to browse my site during these periods when asp.net i sodwn I can see obviously nothing.
    Has someone some idea?

Moreover, if I look in the Log from Host user I can see that the Application START event happens very often, is this normal?

    Thanks

    Andrea

Which ISP host are you using?

    Andrea,

When you say you are getting nothing, are you getting a 404 or a 'Service Unavailable' message?

If you haven't modified anything and just uploaded the default DNN app this sounds more like an issue with there server. Sounds like something isn't configured right. How many other apps are running on the server? Sounds like a memory leak somewhere. In Windows 2003 the Worker Processes can be automatically set to restart according to certain parameters such as hits, memory usage etc.

Personally, I think they are trying to pass the problem on to you.

    Thanks,

Well, it's almost sure they're trying to pass the problem to me, but before starting to argue I want to see if there are some issues I ignore.
Your suggestion about server parameters is useful: i'm gonna ask exactly which server are they using, thanks.

When I browse my site and the server is supposed to have problems, I just have a 404 error.
I must also say that I use an Access database and that I had to disable scheduling of purging procedures, because these procedures really often blocked access to my website.
I manually run now and then an ASP page containing code to compact and repair the MS Access database.
