This module is great. I'm new to .net so I'm not sure I can make the changes myself, but would it be possible to use the login names instead of their real names?
I think this option is VERY IMPORTANT! Many users don't want their REAL name exposed when participating in this activity, even though it's just for fun ;) Any chance we may see this before kickoff?

I've just added the DisplayFullName/DisplayUserName feature to the code. I've also added a Random Pick option. Here's what I have left before releasing the next version: - consolidate code from some other developers - fix "late user" bug that messes up the
scoring I've recently rebuilt my entire machine and installed SourceGear Vault as my source control, so I've been a bit behind. As these changes get implemented, I've also had to get used to the db versioning system that DNN uses. But don't worry - I'll post
an update soon. There's one last item that I'm hoping to squeeze into this release, but I'm not sure if I'll have time - confidence points. Supporting confidence points requires a few db changes but I also need to add the logic that will ensure that a) every
pick has a confidence point and b) none of the confidence points are reused. Who knows - maybe I'll get on a roll one of these nights and get it added in. I'm not thinking about for this next release, but would RSS be a nice feature for the pool? Pool standings
could be put into that for those folks that use aggregators. mike.
Any possibilitites of dealing with the Time Zone issue in the next release? i.e. The time zone is set via the time on the server but for many of us our servers are hosted remotely and set to different time zones. Not a huge deal but a quirk when trying to deal
with a local crowd. Thanks again for the great module, John ps. I am considering working on a score grid module for football where a 10 x 10 grid is used and everyone picks squares. Has anyone already started this and is there any interest in such a module?

John, Yep, I should be able to implement that as well - any change that doesn't affect the db is relatively easy. I'll now put the time zone as an option - I'll default it to the server's local time zone. Since time zone names often repeat, I'll probably just
have a list of UTC offsets in the dropdown list. I'll add a link to some good websites that will tell you how to choose your UTC. Shoot - I just remembered that I also use Daylight Saving Time settings in the code and not all countries use DST so I guess I'll
have to come up with a better way to solve that. As for the Squares module, I am planning on writing one of those as well. What timeline were you looking at for that? I'll be shooting for the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup which is in late November. It
should be a nice and easy module. mike.
s2k, August is a nasty time to get much done on the weekends, so I'm trying to get things done during weeknights. I would recommend that you install the first version of PickEm and start to get things set up. I'm going to bust my butt to ensure that any db
changes can be upgraded by the dnn install process, so you shouldn't lose any data with the upgrade. Are there any features from this next release that you absolutely have to have before you can start your pool? mike.
Mike, I won't be working on the squares module until november or so myself! We usually only do the squares for the NFL playoffs but if I get started before then I will email you first and maybe we can collaborate on the module together. Actually I'll just email
you whenver I get started on it! The next two months are pretty booked but I am not sure about October yet. Thanks for the reply about time zones. Also one further suggestion I have would be to have a tie breaker feature of some sort. In the past we usually
used a guess at the total combined score of either the Sunday or Monday night game that way if there was a tie in games picked for the week we would still have a winner by the closest score selection without going over! John
