A critical error has occurred. The virtual path '/nuke/desktopmodules/yetanotherforum.net/pages/forum.ascx' maps to another application, which is not allowed. is what i get on any use of the yaf module after the first site has used it... i have 14 sites for
differnt ppl on my one installation... how is it possible to use yaf on all of them the first site works fine
Cathal... Help!!! Well, not being a real expert with MS SQL or any SQL, I now have the dreaded duplicate tables and stored procedures in my DNN DB, one set owned by DBO account and the other set owned by DNN account. I believe this was caused by rerunning desktopmodules/yetanotherforum/install
a second time after moving the portal from a development box to a production box in a panick/troubleshooting binge. 1st off, I had no idea that MS SQL would allow tables and procedures with identical names to coexist in a single DB when owned by different
users... This doesn't seem right to me. Any comments or ideas?
smartsource-it, It is right... You can have objects that are named identical but have different owners. Now that you have these "bonus" objects, what are you trying to achieve? Change ownership (sp_changeobjectowner) or eradicate with extreme prejudice?
I'm not quite sure... YAF created all of its tables and sprocs as DNN user, I have a couple of modules that don't support object qualifier. I'm not sure what would happen if i change ownership to DBO?
Just for the record I was getting this "Could not load type 'yaf._install'." Because i only had a yaf_dnn.dll and the email dll in my bin directory(downloaded the source, and for some reason the other dll's werent there). After I grabbed the yaf.dll from the
bin release and moved it to my main bin directory it was smooth sailing. (Thanks for listing those Boskone)
Can anybody help me to integrate the YetAnotherForum with DotNetNuke? I have worked it for 3 weeks, my boss wants to fire me because this….. OS: Windows XP professional SQL: MSDE 2000 I used the administrative account to logon windows. I used the following
command to setup the MSDE: Setup SECURITYMODE=SQL SAPWD=”12345” My computer name is “Developer”.(viewed by server explorer in Visual Studio .Net) The name also is showed as “(local)” with SQL command. My DotNetNuke folder is “c:\ DotNetNuke” I can run the
DotNetNuke smoothly. I followed the instructions to install the YetAnotherForum.. (http://www.asp.net/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?tabindex=1&PostID=523588) YetAnotherForum forlder is “C:\DotNetNuke\DesktopModules\YAF” I copied the C:\DotNetNuke\DesktopModules\YAF\bin
to C:\DotNetNuke\bin I used Web Data Administrator to create the database. Database name is “magforum”. (LogMode is SQL, account name is SA, the password is 12345) I have set the c:\ DotNetNuke and ASPNET1.1 as the virtual directories by IIS I have set the
account security mode as full control for folder C:\DotNetNuke\, (Account includes the ASPNET) the web.config under the C:\DotNetNuke is ....... data source=(local);initial catalog=magforum;user id=sa;password=12345; /desktopmodules/YAF/ english.xml standard.xml
/desktopmodules/YAF/upload/ /YAF/ 1 The problem is that I can to browse this URL to run the database setup wizard. http://developer/dotnetnuke/DesktopModulesYAF/install.aspx The error is: You are not authorized to view this page … HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden
I will lose my job, any .Net expert can save me?
I've just been comparing your config to my own. I know I'm not running the absolute latest code from Boskone, but I'm pretty close. Here's my $0.02 ... You said you're trying to access "http://developer/dotnetnuke/DesktopModulesYAF/install.aspx". Did you mean
"http://developer/dotnetnuke/DesktopModules/YAF/install.aspx"? (looks like you forgot a wack between DesktopModules and YAF) You have 1 in your web.config. What is that for? Have you tried taking that out? You have /YAF/ in your web.config. Shout this be /DesktopModules/YAF/?
Hope that's useful. Let us know what your results are. -Luke

I followed your steps exaxtly and the following error occurs when I try to add the forum to the content area of my page: A critical error has occurred. Failed to load /createyourcompanieswebsite/desktopmodules/Forums/pages/forum.ascx. I substituted forums for
your YetAnotherForum.net example. Any ideas?
