I want to use ASP.NET . I have the next files: 1) ASP.NET Portal (VBSDK) Installer v1.0.msi 2) dotnetredist.exe ==.net framework 3)sql2kdesksp3.exe==MSDE (instead of SQL SERVER) My problem is with MSDE how should i install it ;with which parameters????? I dont
know a thing in SQL OR MSDE ..... So please HELP ME!!!

Yes i installed it . Then I have to install ASP.NET Portal (VBSDK) Installer v1.0.msi and ASP.NET asks me when i install it about local or remote and iis. I dont know what is .aspx file ; i dont know a thing about MSDE or SQL SERVER. Thanks for your HELP!!
Ok - if you are just starting out with Asp.Net, I would suggest that you start with the Quickstat tutorials which contain a lot of good samples and will ease you into understanding asp.net - link to the quickstarts is
here. The portal starterkit that you are installing needs a sql db and that is what it prompts during installation as to whether you want the the sql database on your local machine or remotely. Before
you start playing around with the starter kit - please go through the tutorial to get a basic understanding of asp.net. Hope that helps Kashif
I installed MSDE ,.NET Framework, IIS and all. I tried to install ASP.NET Portal (VBSDK) Installer v1.0.msi i choose: 1) support IIS 2)Local (not Remote) Then it wrote test connection with data base i clicked on this button and it wrote connection failed !!!
What TO DO ?????? I HAVE Print screen of the error if you want but what can i do?????
