I am creating a web application with VS .NET 2002 soon to upgrade to 2003. I have put Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition on the Web Server that i'm running. I have another computer that i'm using as the development computer. When i try to tell VS .NET to
copy the project, i get the log on screen, log on, and then when the project is in process (Authentication cleared, but before the files actually copy), then i get an error stating that the folder is marked as executable and no files can be placed in an executable
folder on the server. I have checked the permissions on the server and changed them to scripts and read/write access to the root directory. When i look at the server box i am shown that there is an application symbol next to the directory that was created
by VS .Net 2002, but of course no files. So i have tried copying them by taking the hard drive out of the server, putting it on the development box, copied the files to the server hard drive, and tried to run the application, with a detailed stack trace including
unable to create file in %windir%\microsoft.net\framework\1.1.xxxx(dont remember the build right off the top of my head)\temp internet folder\\\. I am in the process right now of reinstalling the Web Server with Windows Server 2003, but wanted to know what
i should be looking for if i run into this after the reinstall. TIA
