rather than referring any book chapter by chapter, what I would say you is start any project, a sample project. which will make your learning interesting as the necessity is the mother of invention, whatever you need in your project would force you to find
out the way..and about the books what I prefer is any "Beginning in ASP.NET...." books by Wrox or Apress.

Welcome to the World of Web Development...
So You dont know any Coding and Scripting stuff.. Believe me nobody in this forum either... We just practice over a technology and try to learn how it will work.. Gradually By doing this we develop a feeling or algorithm to process a work;which becomes better
and better everytime we use that...
As a beginner to this world.. In the field of web development you have to get acquainted to a number of technologies to make things work successfully.. You will get this feeling when u will be able to make an entire project run individually..
To Start with like i started hardly a year ago as i was a complete noob to this world like you...
First start with asp.net,sql server and c#...
For asp.net.. Refer:
and finally get some experience by working on some practical projects here:
For Sql Server:
and buy a sql book by Ben Forta..
Lastly Try to work on realtime projects.. Either Develop one yourself or download one by searching google.com
For Books refer books by Mathew Macdonald///
Hope This will help u a bit

I think you should definitely check the Microsoft Virtual Academy website as they provide over 200 expert-led courses for free. I've found that it’s the best place to
learn C# programming under industry expert guidance. The courses will teach you how to develop apps for a range of scenarios from the enterprise to Windows Store apps for consumers. And ou can learn at your own pace!
