to the best of my recollection, the above forum used to have icons to indicate whether the thread was concidered by the O.P. (or MSFT) as resolved.

they are not there now ... were they dropped on purpose, by accident, or am i suffering from false memory syndrome?

if you take a look at the My posts section and you have once put something, like you did in the test forum, then you'll see there are also no icnos.
These specific forums don't have a pointing system attached to them like other forums so I guess the last update took into account that it was not needed anymore to show an icon. Threads in these forums also can't be set to Resolved.
So it makes sense to not have an icon to indicate a state which can't be set. Perhaps it can be debated about to have a dummy icon in it but that would likely be just a placeholder hence extra fluff for nothing.

Hi Kris ... imho, a neutral placeholder icon will aesthetically look better ...
absence of an icon looks terribly, especially in index list views like "My Threads".
if "extra fluff" restores the aesthetics, that imho would not be "for nothing".
Kris ... i appreciate you input. As per Mike, your guess is correct.

Agreed. This issue is now logged with a medium priority. I don't have an ETA but you should see an improvement on the site in the coming weeks.
We resolved this issue with last night's forums deployment. All thread subjects now align vertically, regardless of the presence/absence of a thread status icon. Rather than a meaningless placeholder, however, the area is just empty.
Terri, thank you for the update. Much appreciated.

FWIW, a brilliant graphic designer (not me) can design a meaningful placeholder.
