  how does this work in Asp.net, this was one of hte question that i was asked

  huh? Could you clarify please.

  The concept of tracking modifications could be nearly anything.... Data, Files, Source Control, etc, etc...

  its related to HTTP Header  if-not-modified-since, even I haven't heard about this
