I understand that giving a precise calculation is too much ado to perform. However, there is still a significant difference between having to wait for, say, five minutes - or 50 minutes.
So to support all those developers who are not dealing with MVC all day it would be a useful warning to mention that installing MVC will not only take "a minute ore two", but a significant amount of time. So users will still have the option to abort installation
and perform it later - after hours, or during their lunch breaks
you are right. However, putting a new text on installer it involves others things - like project managers , testers, lawyers and others.( and may be other things that I do not know, because I do not work at Microsoft)
However, you will soon realize that the framework would save you more time that you have done installing - comparing with webforms.
Then I suggest they quickly update the installer to get this settled and done to avoid delivering a bad due experience right from the beginning.
Yes, you're absolutely right. I'm very much forward in getting into the new technology to get things done quicker and in an even more object oriented manner than before.

Got it... Almost an hour here.
Or in more general terms: Twice the time of a bare Windows 7 installation.

Shouldn't the installer mention the time it'll take the installation to complete at the beginning?
So users will know what to expect and won't unnecessarily wait.

No. That will imply additional calculations( at least hardware, memory , CPU ) and it's very difficult and error prone.
Try yourself a program on different PC's and you will see.
