Finally, someone acknowledged this problem! They released a statement on the MSDN blogs about this. Apparently, the issue goes away when you compile your project. So, when you start a new MVC4 project, just compile right away from the start:

Hello,
I am too getting this error during installation:
0x80070005 - This product is incompatible with .NET 4.5 Developer Preview
I have not installed VS 11 developer preview / .Net 4.5 on my machine.
I am running windows 7 64-bit, Visual Studio 2010 SP1, Asp.net MVC 3 Tools Update. The error remains even after uninstalling MVC 4 developer preview.
I am about to start a new project in MVC 4 but unable to get rid of this error. Please help.
Thanks

@rd_rauf and others:
The 0x80070005 error is likely caused by your antivirus software. See: http://forums.asp.net/post/4857490.aspx

Is the beta feature complete? IE, we are about to start a new project. Would it be safe to now start in the beta with minimal changes in the future?

Took best part of a day to install. Visual Studio now suffers frequent and fatal "visual studio is busy" messages.
Webpages, MVC 2, 3. and 4, WCF, DataServices, RIA, WPF etc etc etc. The whole framework seems to be rapidly becoming an unmanageable dog's breakfast.

How long does MVP 4 ß take to install?
I'm currently installing it on a clean German Windows Server 2008 R2 / VS 2010 SP1 installation in a virtual machine.
Been waiting for half an hour now. The installer is still busy, reading "Processing: Microsoft Visual Studio 2010"...
