Or if you prefer to use the stand-alone installer you can download it
here.
What's new?
ASP.NET MVC 4 now includes ASP.NET Web API, a framework for building and consuming HTTP services that can reach a broad range of clients including browsers and mobile devices. It's also a great platform for building RESTful services. Find all about ASP.NET
Web API on the ASP.NET Web API home page.
You can find all about all of the other new features in the Beta from the
release notes.
Is ASP.NET MVC 4 Beta release a Go Live release? There is a
post made by John Galloway that suggests it is but when I checked the eula.rtf file I could not locate any mention of Go Live.
The preview realease clearly statded not for production use.
"You may not test the software in a live operating environment unless Microsoft permits you to do so under another agreement."
The beta states that you may deploy on an internet facing site.
"...If you comply with the rest of these license terms, you may also distribute to third parties or deploy for third parties to access over the Internet the ASP.NET programs that you develop using the software, provided that:..."

It's all in the EULA.

Ok I was just confused because based on John Galloways post I was expecting an actual reference to "Go Live" in the eula.

Please look at the following http://forums.asp.net/t/1735111.aspx/1?MVC+3+will+not+install
Please look at this post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2374957/asp-net-mvc-on-iis-7-5
so if you are using iis you should be aware how 64 bit works
Hopefully, mvc 4 will be released in a about a month or so . THAT'S ABOUT THE TIMELINE MVC 3 WAS RELEASED
so I am going to wait.....This is how I solved my problem
1 I had to run a visual studio 2010 repair (this checks everything was installed on your computer-correctly-very very important )
the repair on vs 2010 runs a couple of hours...it is painful...however that is always the correct way. This will check if mvc 3 is installed or not
Then install mvc 3 if you need it (check requirements-I forget what they were)
2 then installed vs 2010 sp1 entity framework code first etc
3 then install mvc 4 beta (mvc 4 beta nuget package may interfer with mvc 3 nuget) please be aware
Please let other people how you solved this...so you can help other people...Thanks...

By the way If you are running the repair and you can not install net 4.0 that's not good
Then will need to unistall vs 2010 and make sure to delete all your old projects

I have found on 32 bit machines
visual studio has gotten easier to install over the years however 64 bit seems to have a few problems
