I miss the old hosting section that was in the old site.
This will probably create a lot of threads that are basically advertisement. Hopefully I will get some unbiased assistance with this. I want to find a hosting company that provides a lot of bang for the buck. Does anyone have any preference of WinHost
over DiscountAsp.net? Any other suggestions for asp.net hosting that offers multiple ms dbs for an afffordable price i can use for a portfolio?

I think the best deal is clearly through GoDaddy. Lots of bandwidth, lots of space, multiple MSSQL servers. My sites have almost never been down. The lowest price in the World. You get the most for what you pay. Just make sure to pick Windows servers, so
they work with asp.net...
Also make sure you ask the hosting companies some questions before signing up, always a good measure.
Good luck

Jeremy

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably go with winhost, godaddy, or discount asp.net. I tried web host for life but they seem to have gone down hill since they were bought out. I especially didn't like the way all of my mark up was some how changed to
an Iframe since I never used these.
I'll also check out the resources here.

Well it really comes down the feature set you are looking for and price you want to pay.
But as you said Discountasp.net are great, I hosted with them for years but not the cheapest.
Winhost I used never had any problems.
But you might want to check out cytanium.com & appliedi.net which are also very good.
You can also use the page at http://www.microsoft.com/web/hosting/home to look at the details of each company.
Also make sure you ask the hosting companies some questions before signing up, always a good measure.
Good luck
