I wonder if you can help. I have Win 7 64bit and VS2005. I have been trying to install it under Win 7 along with ODAC, however having issues. I have now resorted to using WinXP Mode (virtual) under Win7. I can run VS 2005 no problem in WinXp Mode. However
when I try to run VS under the Windows XP mode Applications (that is, it doesn't open Win XP directly but runs in the background and the VS looks like its running within Win7. I know the Virtual Loader is sat there in the background really). My issue is that
in this mode the SERVER Mapped drives aren't loasded. I see them 'virtually' mapped via the PC (\\PCNAME\MappedDrive - these are in fact the PCs mapped drives and not WinXP's). So when I run the application it comes
up with the system.web.aspnethostingpermission because the 'virtual' mapped drives arent able to be set up within the MS .NET 2.0 Config. Has anyone setup VS in an XP Mode environment utilising mapped drives? I know the solution would be to copy the source
to the WinXP mode but I really dont want to open the XP mode up and just run the VS directly from Win7
