I was trying to reply to
this thread and everytime I try to reply to that thread, it redirects me back to the orignal thread but I couldn't see my reply there. So I tried few times, then only I noticed that my points got down each time I try to reply to that thread? Why is that?
The system suspects me as a spammer?
If you see carefully at the Get Started section, you may notice that thread tag line is below.
Created by carlsky33. Latest Post by salman behera, 8 hours, 46 minutes ago. (Yes
the time will change when you see it but you will notice the difference)
But the thread has come to the top of the list (I suppose it's because I replied to it). But it still says Lastest Post by Salman behera (I replied after he did) and says it was 8 hours and 46 minutes ago (Which is impossible since the thread after that
is also replied by me and it was 34 minutes ago.)
I just became a contributor and I lost 20 points just because of this. Now I'm a participant again.
If you can see my profile here, you will notice that now I have -20 for 'Your reply was deleted'. I know the duplicate posts aren't allowed in this site. But I cannot see any of my reply there and I don't think it's
possible to loose any points (which I had prior to reply to that thread) just because I replied to a thread.
And I guess, I must be getting an e-mail if I post a duplicate post. But I didn't get any.
Please be kind enough to take this issue into account. Thank you.
I think that sometimes posts have to be approved. One time I answered a port, it appeared, I noticed a typo and edited it and it disappeared, an hour or so later it was back, I queried it and it appears that it had to be approved for some reason. My guess
is there is some sort of filter that decides whether a post has to be approved or not and you fell foul to this.
At the end of the day the points system is just a stroke to the ego, don't worry about it you will make up the points soon enough. Ask yourself why you are contributing, is it just to stroke your ego or is it to be helpful and maybe learn something yourself.
If it is to be helpful and learn then the points dont really matter do they?

Not at all. I just report the bug here so the moderators/forum technicians can take an appropriate action regarding that.
Oh I don't really care about points! I'm worrying because I couldn't reply to that thread. I still got the reply copy pasted with me but I cannot post it. That's what I really worry about. I may not have been post the issue here just because I loose my points.
Thanks for the help! I'm aware that some posts need to be moderated but I haven't encounter with this kind of issue before. That's the main reason why I posted this thread (Not just because I loose some points).
And again, thanks for taking your time to reply me!

Please do not use this as a blanket reply to every potential bug report. I'd appreciate it if you let me respond to reports like this. We are targeting a narrow set of high priority fixes, and no one has determined that what the O.P. is reporting above
is actually a bug or the same bug you are referencing. From what I can see his original post was concerning a problem with points, not his post disappearing with multiple edits.
Terri ... imho, i think that you need to review the O.P. by
Ruchira more carefully ... just because the word "points" is in the his subject does not mean the his post is primarily about points.
it seems to me, and perhaps
Ruchira will clairify, that he is talking about disappearing replies which imho has recently become a "hot topic" here in the feedback section.
Ruchira wrote, in part, in the O.P. "[he] couldn't see [his] reply " and he can not "see any of [his] reply there"; in his first reply to this thread, he wrote":
I don't really care about points!
I'm worrying because I couldn't reply to that thread.
Ruchira's experience is 100% identical to mine imho ... he even marked my reply as the answer; i assume you unmarked it.
Terri, if I understood you correctly, disappearing replies is exactly what
Ruchira was reporting as the true focus of this thread and you will be "targeting a forums
bug fix iteration in December after the redesign goes live" that includes addressing the
disappearing replies.

With all due respect, Gerry, your comments are just clouding the report that Ruchira has made and is giving everyone more misinformation to have to wade through. Please back down.
gerrylowry
he even marked my reply as the answer; i assume you unmarked it.
Your assumption is incorrect. Ruchira did mark, but subsequently unmarked your answer.
The original report was:
<div>
Ruchira
So I tried few times, then only I noticed that my points got down each time I try to reply to that thread?
This is completely different than a reply disappearing. This is a report of points being decremented each time a reply was made to a thread. This has not been publicly reported before, and I may have missed it due to the noise in this thread and the fact
that the thread was marked as resolved. The underlying reason could possibly be the same, but we will need to ensure that points are not being decremented inappropriately.
Ruchira -- can you tell me -- were you using the browser back button and attempting to re-post the same reply? Or did you start from scratch and create a new reply each time? Thanks for your patience.
First of all, My apologies for making a confusion.
As I said in my O.P. I was trying to reply to that post. So partially, Gerry is correct though I didn't edit my reply. I just couldn't see my reply after I post it. So I post it again and again to see I got decrease my points each time I try to
post the reply. Yes I do not care about loosing few points but it's a bug. Isn't it?
I'm so sorry that I cannot remember whether I have used the browser back button to attempt re posting. I tried to do that in Thursday morning (My GMT is +5:30). I may have used it few times too. But I can remember very well that, after I reply, it rediercts
me back to the thread but I couldn't see my reply. So then, I attempt to re-post the reply by clicking on the 'Reply' link buttton. But each time I try, I couldn't see my reply but I could see that my points getting decrease by two (The points, which I had
before I started to reply to that thread).
Before I reply to that thread, I had -6 for 'Your reply was deleted'. But after my attempts, now I have -20.
@Gerry:
Hi Gerry,
I un marked your answer, not Terry. I marked it as answered but I later relaized that wasn't the exact answer I'm looking for. Though, I really appreciate your help on this. My apologies for making a confusion. I was not well yesterday so I just walk through
the reply then marked it answered. It's my fault that I was on this forum and make a fuss while I'm not well.
@All:
Now please don't show off by replying to this thread saying 'Don't care about points you moron! Just help people! Blah blah blah!'. I'm just reporting the bug here. Please Do not misunderstand. I do not care about points. But I do not want to loose them
without any appropriacte reason.
Thank you so much both of you
Thank you Gerry for taking your time and I really appreciate your help. I know your intention was to help me.
Thank you Terry for taking what I've report, in to account.
So I post it again and again to see I got decrease my points each time I try to post the reply.
Did you see the decrease in points immediately or did you notice it some time later?
The reason i ask is because i believe i recognize your reply in that other thread. It showed up in the moderation queue multiple times and the duplicates were subsequently deleted. Note - i'm not positive that yours is the post i'm remembering, but i think
that it is.

I got my points down immediately just because I replied to a thread
