I have a email functionality in my asp.net Web Application, Email Addresses are taken from a database. Is it possible to check whether E-Mail address really exists OR not. How can I do it ?.. I have searched in forums and Google got some related info which
says using VRFY, RCPT Commands... but I didn't understand how can those commands be used in .NET using C#.. There are some third party tools but my client will not buy those tools..
I have SMTP mail server details,, ?? Is there any way this can be achieved ?

libraries checks email verification.
but below email verification is one of other alternative, currently industry is following is safe and accurate to find the email if it is not with the registered user.
Send an email to the address you want to validate. This is called verification mail. So your customer is requested to send back the confirmation from his mail. If you receive the mail from your customer registered email then it's verified.
This approch is followed by many popular websites currently in Industry.

In the registration phase you can request confirmation mail. So, if user enters invalid email then he could not register.
