When search for ASPNET I see the following message:-
An object named "ASPNET" cannot be found. Check the selected object types and location for accuracy and ensure that you typed the object name correctly, or remove this object from the selection.
I searched by changing different locations, no luck!

This article is regarding Access Permissions, but the same applies to Excel files
Use Response.Write(Environment.Username) to identify which user you need to give permissions

No, I am still getting the following error:-
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file ''. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
I checked the permissions under security tab and I can see grey ticks under my user name.
I tried - Response.Write(Environment.UserName);
and I can see my name as User Name. I am in a network.
Still trying to solve it.

I am using Windows 7 on my office network.
I could not solve it yet.

I created the excel file in a different location and it works now:-
<add name="xlsx" connectionString="Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;
Data Source=C:\Users\MyName\Desktop\Books\Book1.xlsx;Extended Properties=Excel 12.0"/>
Thank you so much.
