I have been seeing errors like this on and off for a few weeks now:
XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://forums.asp.net/AddPost.aspx?ReplyToPostID=3483010&Quote=False
Line Number 1, Column 1:
I first saw it on a Saturday morning so I figured it was updates but it has cropped up here and there when trying to view pages, post replies and if i leave the browser on the auto-refreshing unanswered posts page.
I have seen it frequently too. I think two factors may be
(a) the forum is having heavy traffic, and
(b) one of the many advertisements may be the culprit.
If your browser is set to catch and debug,
you might be able to grab more information;
problem is a browser set to catch and debug
errors is a horrible experiene because in general
far too many web pages have far too many
errors.
You could also launch Fiddler2. Fiddler2 can
be quite good at providing useful data for troubleshooting.

Thanks, Harry. This information might help us solve this problem:
http://forums.asp.net/t/1485661.aspx. When it happens, what do you see on the screen? Do you see the top and bottom elements of the page, with the XML Parsing Error in the center? (ie the main content of the page is replaced with the error?)
No its a complete page failure, yellowish background. Text is in a single pixel border box and bigger than normal.
I will take a screenshot next time it happens...
ditto.

Most of the time, at present, I'm using Firefox 3.5.4 ...
so when it happens to me, probably it's with Firefox
@ Terri .... is there something "special" about Firefox?

Only that the error message reported is one that I have only seen in Firefox. I would assume that's it's not a browser-only issue, but that the other browsers handle the issue in their own "special" way.

Is this a known issue?
