Hello everyone, I'm seeking advice on chosing the best hoster for asp.net. I did some googling and i found a ton of hoster. However, some of them charge if want to have database access, some have other hidden fees. I'm developing a simple site which holds around 30 page of aspx . From your opinion, which hoster is best for my case. ( I'm willing to pay around 20$/month)

    thanks

My asp.net website is hosted by webhost4life and it's working fine, especially their hosting support are real great.

If you're searching for a good .Net web hosting, you should need to check with them. They offer 5 free Mssql databases & 2 GB free sql database space, some of the hostings don't offer free sql databases, it should cost much money to add on a sql Database

    Wish you good luck!

    Hi Haithemara,

I have to get a hosting company for a few sites soon also.  Coincidently, I have narrowed my choices to the ones that are mentioned on this page.  Who did you end up going with? Are you happy with their services and support?

    Hello newbie2C#.

First, thank you for the message. Second, i spent more than 2 weeks trying to figure out which one is better for my site. All of them have similar price and services.

However, i finally made my decision for discountasp.net for the following reasons:
    - they have free 6 months hosting, so you get a 60$ dollars of the bill. However, you have to know that you will have to pay for any sql database .So, my total cost for 1 year of hosting was 180 dollars: 60 Dollars for hosting and 120 for sql. I bought my domain from godadday, i recommend you doing that , so in case you want change hosting or something happend , you still maintain the domain name.

    - What i really liked about the discountasp.net are the webcasts and videos they have for the common purpose. They also have forum and ticket scheduling , but i rather watch than read. These links will provide you with the common task:

    http://www.dasptv.com/

    http://www.iis7test.com/webcasts/

    - I sign up on sunday and within 2 hours, i was able to upload my database and my files. You can check it out and tell me what you think about this site:

    http://www.programmingfundamental.com

On the other hand , there are few things that can be improved. I'm too building a couple of other sites beside this one, so it will be great if they offer any promotion for any developer who has more than 1 site with them ( Still looking for more Promotion:) )

I hope that this information help you chose the best hosting company for you site. If you do chose discountasp.net, would you mind clicking this link to mention that i was a referral to you:

    Thanks and good luck

    Hello rumsfo,

First, thank you for the message. Second, the account i signed up with has the following:

    1000 MB Disk Space
    80 GB/mo Bandwidth.

Personnally, i think it is good for many reasons. First, when you put a website on the internet, you really don't know how much bandwidth you will be using until the site is running for at least 2 or 3 months. Then, you decide if you want to add more bandwith or not. In other words, put your site on the market first, then you will have a summary of the bandwith usage ( It is a free option). In case you need more bandwith, you can added what you need . They have the following option:

500 MB Additional Disk Space Addon $5/month
    5 GB/mo Additional Bandwidth Addon $5/month

The same aspect can be applied for the disk space.  I recommend that you start with these setting, then depending on the numbers of users or the files that you add into the site, you can update your setting. I personnally think this is the reason why they give the hosting of the first 6 months for free.

Finally, If you do chose discountasp.net, would you mind clicking this link to mention that i was a referral to you:

    http://www.discountasp.net/index.aspx?refcode=HUDXUN

    Thanks and good luck.
