After an insert or update the user is re-directed back to the list page. Any filter selections are now gone and you have to start over.
Why would the developers of DD think that this behaviour would even be something that anybody would want, to have to start over after every Insert or Update is ridiculous.
I am using DD Preview4 last build which I thought would have a had some sort of fix from DD1. Can someone point me to the correct solution which I am sure is out there somewhere. Thanks!
I know your the man, and anything of value I have learned about DD has come from your blog but I had already read both of those posts before I posted to this forum. The comments at the end of "Ajax History in a DD Website" scared me away rom even thinking
that this would work for me and this particular problem.
Someone wrote "All that remains now is to keep the value of the filters when the user inserts or updates as well. I am using Dynamic Data Entities for a CMS and well... there is A LOT of content :)

Steve said... "Yep well thats another thing, there was a post on the forums a while back and I will do something
to wasily facilitate this in the future. I'm currently working on an advanced version of the Cascading FiledTemplates from an earlier post (that works with the preview) and also a cascading filter for the preview, after that I'll get an article on AJAX History
for the Preview and cover this also."
So is the "Remebering page index when returning to a list page" article what I am supposed to try and use to figure this out?
By the way, I really wish you could just roll all your solutions into one set of templates that we noobs could download and have all the functionalty of a real DD site to work from. Maybe Microsoft should just offer you a job since it seems all they are
doing is ripping off all your solutions and some others to put into DD 2. What I am asking for should already have been there in DD1.
So what you are after is a version of AJAX History for filter that works with Preview 4?

It has been suggested that I setup a Codeplex project to do this and I'm looking into doing this in the near future.

I could use Preview 4 if I had to, I only tried it out because I thought this particular issue would have been something that would have been addressed.
I currently am using DD1. I rolled some (1/4) of your solutions into my DD1 project that I am trying to use as a manager system for my solution. I prefer to stick with DD1 primarily because I am sharing my L2S models accross my projects in the solution.
I don't know what would happen if I tried to use the preview in the DAL Library class where i would have to reference those preview DLL's because of my L2S models.
So your saying that I can ignore the comment that lead me to believe that it wouldn't apply when going to the list page after an insert or update, see my very first post?
Does your ajax stuff not work with preview but does work on DD1, and that is where I am confused?
