First all, I am coming from a Drupal background with some PHP so this is a very new territory. Having said that, I have a few questions about the classifieds starter kit. Incase I hire a developer: -
How much work would be needed to make the script ASP.NET 3.5 complaint? For future enhancement of site.
Not sure if it would help. But if you open the kit in VS 2008 it does ask if you want to upgrade to NET3.5 I have not tried it but plan on doing this. Has anyone tried it? Any issues. (Of Course I will back up my original)
I have managed to do it using VWD 2008 and all is fine so far. When I loaded the starter kit into VWD 2008 a message asked did I want to update files to 3.5 - said yes and all quite easy.
Yes, i had the warnings too. My understanding of these is that whilst the upgrade allows us to utilize working within the 3.5 framework it does not upgrade all the code that is now considered to be outdated. I did consider manually changing the code to
overcome this but it is not necessary and would be a very long job so I am leaving it until I have the time and patience.

I have several sites running on the starter kit.
I clicked "yes" to allow VWD 2008 to update. It all WORKED ok...
But I do have a zillion warnings. Things like width=460px missing the " " also, warnings about images not having "alt=" text. But it did work.
