hi, i read the solution in which we had to change the host file. but i am using windows xp in which already the host file has "127.0.0.1 local host". so how do i fix the problem in windows xp. thank you.

It's not very clear what is your problem, but you could check your firewall settings and allow port 80 (http) connections.

• If we create another type project, does it have same issue? We need to narrow down the cause of this issue.
• Did you install any antivirus software which could prevent Asp.Net Development Server? If so, you can try to reconfigure your antivirus software.
• If we use another browser such as FireFox, does it have the same issue?

thanks for reply, 1)For another project also it did create the same issue 2)no i did not install antivirus which would stop or prevent the asp.net development server. but i uninstalled the visual studio 2008 and again installed it so now is working properly . Last time i did the same thing which worked well for few days and then again suddenly had the same issue poped up. thank you

Please install Visual Studio 2008 SP1 on http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=FBEE1648-7106-44A7-9649-6D9F6D58056E&displaylang=en

And check whether the URL port number matches the one in ASP.NET development server.
