This is urgent unfortunately and cannot understand why this isnt working - probably because I haven't grasped in the indepth details of the Accordion.
I have 2 panels in the Accordion control.
One of them has a fileupload control.
The other is a "submit" type panel.
there is client side validation on the first accordion panel. This is all fine.
The problem is, when the user selects a file to upload and presses the "next" button in the accordion panel, it will show the other panel. When the "confirm" button is pressed in this panel, the fileupload control contains no file to upload at this point!
There is also no postback going on in the first panel when the user presses "next".
any ideas whats going on and how to fix this?

Does your accordian panel is in UpdatePanel, If so then you can't upload the file asyncrously?

the updatepanel is in a pane in the accordion pane. fileupload control must be trigged by a full postback according to the documentation, but the problem here is that after a full postback.... the value in the fileupload is lost completely.

First you need to varify that you are getting the FileUpload control object?

well, of course I am :-)
this also happens even if we do not place it in the update panel but do a postback on a button or something, the value/contents of the fileupload are lost. i think this is by behavior/design
