We currently have a E2K7 CCR Infrastructure and wanted to know if we could install HMC using the current infrastructure and then migrate the users into the MPS configuration database or can we migrate the mailbox to a new HMC platform. Also should we setup
a new domain for the HMC environment.
my advice on this would be to setup a greenfield environment for HMC. it is very different from an ordinary exchange environment and will require training, testing etc. you will be implementing a new forest and domain for the HMC environment, since you
will be exposing it to customers.
after you are setup you will be able to migrate customers onto your platform using a variety of methods, one of them being PST import on the customer side, another more complicated being move mailbox.
