It seems like Active-x controls related to client-side scripting are not loaded on my browser. So far I noted this problem in two places:
ASP.Net Server-Side Menu control doesn't show up the child menus.
Ajax Control Toolkit Controls doesn't work.
Even the sample Ajax Control Toolkit doesn't work.
First I thought this might be the problem with the browser so I tried disabling client-side script, resetting the browser to default. But nothing was changed. So I thought It might be the browser so I updated it to IE8 and also tried on Firefox.
In order to make sure that this problem is not concerned with AjaxControl Toolkit I created a new website using VS 2008 and added menu control to it. ola...this didn't work either.
So I think now the problem might be with the VS2008 this is the only thing I haven't changed anything so far. Please Suggest.
ajax control toolkitajaxtoolkit.NET 3.5.net framework 3.5"Master page"ActiveX Control
You need to enable client side script and also xhtmlrequest in ie7/ie8.
Anyways it's very easy to determine whether you have a browser problem or you have a server side problem. Simple try http://www.asp.net/ajax/ajaxcontroltoolkit/samples/ in your browser, if the page works your browser settings are correct.
Thanks. The problem has been solved now. All these problems were caused because the system date was accidentally set to Oct 28 2007.
My friend changed this date to install some software on this PC.
