On Vista computer, go to control panel -> System and security ->System ->remote settings ->remote -> Select Allow remote connections in order to enable remote desktop sharing on Windows Vista. Additionally, you can also try using various remote support services
such as logmeinrescue, gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc. in order to establish remote connection between computers.

Sometimes problem is with Firewall no matter You turned it of or not. Try Start->Run (or Windows+R)->
netsh firewall set portopening protocol = TCP port = 1433 name = SQLPort mode = ENABLE scope = SUBNET profile = CURRENT
or
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name = SQLPort dir = in protocol = tcp action = allow localport = 1433 remoteip = localsubnet profile = DOMAIN
Sometimes it helps.
