I want to limit the number of Items in the menu of the dropdown list.
ie. I want to show only 8 items in the menu of the dropdownlist and for the remaining scrollbar should appear.

You can set the size to 5 or any digit something like this:
<asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList1" size="5" runat="server" ></asp:DropDownList>
Or use ListBox Control instead DropDownList.
