I have this problem now for the last five years.

I publish my website to a directory, then I FTP it up to the production server (not sure if there's a better way).

Anyway...I want to Not publish web.config (becuase I have a different one on the production server) AND I want to Also not-publish my googlesitemap (because I have aspx pages editing that on the fly right now temporarily).

Is there a way to do this automatically?

Right now, when I manually FTP I just don't send up the webconfig file and others but it's a real pain now with the other file as well (and a directory too).

     Thanks.

There are a lot more options for deploying your web app using a web deployment project.  Here's a link.

    I hope this helps.
