  validation expression for date?

  can anyone give me the validation expression for date which shud be of this format?

  dd/mm/yyyy

  Try the following regular expression 

  (0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])[/](0[1-9]|1[012])[/](19|20)\d\d

  a RegularExpresion validator should help you and use this expresstion:
